I'm having the same problem with the universe as I had in previous versions. Keeping that balance between drafting an oppressive society and letting it become so oppressive that the characters can't move forward with the plot. If I make it too easy then it doesn't seem that oppressive... And my low-tech approach is making me have to think of low-tech solutions, which is hard for me, having been a futurist for so long.
It's not hard to imagine a world similar to the North America of the 1950's, where computers are as big as houses and barely an issue, and there's no such thing as 'the internets'. But the internet would have made the revolution all that much easier. *lol* Now I'm sitting here trying to figure out how the characters are going to communicate. Smoke signals?
Oh, it will all make sense in the end, and the challenge is fun.
