SGA: home

Enough is Enough

This probably makes me a bad fan, but I like to think I learn from the past. We fought for Daniel Jackson. Okay, we got him back, but what we got was seasons 7 - 10. I'm not complaining about seasons 7-8, but you can keep 9 and 10. Especially the Sam/Jack shenanigans and you can keep the Vala/Daniel bullshit too.

We fought for Carson Beckett and got a necrotic clone (I stole this term from somebody brilliant but I forget who it was right now).

What will fighting for SGA get us? Think about it. Especially in light of what they have planned for the new show. Is it worth it?

When I think of Atlantis, I think of seasons 1 and 2. I think of Dr. Weir with all her brilliance and her flaws. I think of Ford and hope he's still out there somewhere, and will come back someday. I think of Carson trying to adapt to the insanity of it all. I think that with Bates going back to Earth it should've been Stackhouse taking his place. I think of Sheppard being a big kid and planning surfing expeditions to the mainland. I think of non-photoshoppy promo pics where the characters look like themselves and are laughing and having a good time together.

Everything changes and nothing lasts forever and I'm okay with that. Yes, SGA could still be great, but given that the people who make it have decided not to, what good is it to put the gun to their head and make them? They're just going to continue making crap.

So I'm not going to be joining any campaigns this time around. And if you need me, I'll be in my bunk watching season 1.
