Gypsy Fiddle

Surgical Strikes

After reading both reviews to Gypsy Fiddle on OWW, now that jpsorrow added his few cents, I've formulated a bit of a game plan. Joshua's right about Dan. The first thing I'll do is work on that, and just that.

As far as I can tell, chapters 2 and on flow much better, as that's when the action really gets going. It's just getting from the start to there that's been giving me headaches for three months. Which is why I'm taking my time with it. The first chapter is vital and nobody will take my word for it that 'it gets better'. LOL.

Next on the agenda is critiquing more authors. Again, I'm not rushing myself into this either. I will do it, but I have enough going on in my life right now to try and shove myself into it and do the job half-arsed.

Like my dad says, 'Cheap, Fast, and Good... pick any two,' I make my own amendment to that: 'Fast and Good... pick one.' I'm new at critiquing, I always felt I was awful at it, but I will work on it. Just not overnight.

After fixing Dan's introduction into the story, I will do a read-through, fix any style/grammar thingies, then tackle Tyn in that chapter. He's been living in my head for close to six months, I should be able to do this.

Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to work I go (and that just sounds so wrong after the age of maybe five).
