A few months ago I published this blog, back when I was excited about a new employment opportunity. I called it "a new job that’s unlike anything I’ve ever done before" and it turned out to be the wrong fit. I still believe in the agency and what it stands for, but I wasn't qualified to lead it. The whole attempt ended badly and now I don't have a job.
While trying not to panic I've done a bit of writing on Terra Paradox, which I think may come out before Tales of Elysium if I keep going the way I have. I want to get as much of it done this month so when I do go back to work (fingers crossed) I won't have that much left to do.
In the meantime, I don't really know what I will do to survive. The local Occupiers have pointed me in the direction of the various places in the city providing free meals, but I hope I don't have to resort to that.
A few positive things have happened in the past two days. I've finally washed all the dishes in the sink (finally having the time and energy to do so). I've spent some quality time with Merlin, and I've caught up on some of the TV shows I've been missing.
Also, some words of wisdom. If you're young and stupid, and you apply for a loan, you may think you don't need unemployment insurance. Well, I called one of my creditors today with the sob story, and the rep found that I had indeed purchased unemployment protection with my loan and I'd forgotten all about it. That's at least some weight off my chest. I just hope I thought to do the same with the auto loan. *fingers crossed*
I apologise for the stream-of-thought-ness of this post. Merlin is being a pest and I'm still reeling a little bit from yesterday. So to give you something to make up for it, here are some words of wisdom from presidential hopeful Rick Perry. Remember to save a pretzel for the gas jets!( Collapse )
