Gypsy Fiddle

Save the fiddler, save the world... or something

I pulled out the two most recent versions of Gypsy Fiddle. One is a complete draft, the other is about half the length of the first, and takes the story kind of in a different direction. Just from glancing at it I remembered now why I began the change. Tyn was becoming too much of the passive victim while Dan and Link were doing all the work. It didn't feel right.

The downside of this is that now I have to get the sorcerers more involved.

Wait, that's a downside?

Kind of. It's just more work. I don't write sorcery easily. I have to convince myself of it before I can write it, and as a sceptic that takes a tonne of mental gymnastics.

Do I need to be spreading myself so thin, working on 3 or 4 projects at a time? Probably not, but I don't want GF to go into the graveyard of abandoned tales either. So I'll take some time out of today to go over it. Perhaps not write anything, but organise my thoughts on it so that I can pick up the threads? That sounds like a plan.
